National President of All India Muslim Jamaat, Maulana Shahabuddin Razvi issued a statement on Saturday. He said that Muslim Personnel Board is doing politics. He is saying that he does not trust the court. Sunni and Sufi Muslims believe that the purpose of forming the Muslim Personal Board was to protect the principles of Shariat and to solve the religious issues of Muslims. But, the board has deviated from its real objective. Instead of representing Muslims according to Sharia, he has started taking more interest in political matters.
Maulana said that there cannot be compromise on the issue of Gyanvapi Masjid, but the Muslims of India have faith in the Supreme Court. We will get justice. The Muslims of the country do not agree with the statement of the Board. The people of the board are responsible and learned, they should not say anything that breaks trust. The Board should have formed a panel of big lawyers in the Varanasi District Court, Allahabad High Court, and the Supreme Court and presented evidence and arguments in favor of the Gyanvapi Mosque, but it did not do so.
Maulana said that from the day of its establishment till today, people of the same ideology have been in control of the board. Whereas, it is written in the constitution of the board that people of every ideology will be represented but this did not happen. Sunni Sufi Barelvi Muslims constitute 70 percent of the total population of Muslims in India. This 70 percent population does not trust the board nor is the board their representative.
